Google settles Buzz privacy class-action lawsuit

Filed Friday in federal court in San Jose, California, Google has decided to settle a class-action lawsuit over its Buzz social networking service. Buzz was launched in February by the Internet giant as an alternative to sites like Facebook and Twitter and caused a stir with users as some of its users’ information was being made public with the new service. If the settlement is approved, Google will pay $8.5 million for settlement, which includes attorney fees.
