Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two to go up for pre-order on May 6th, shipping on May 13th?

Microsoft’s always said its Kin phones would come to Verizon in May and Vodafone in the fall, and now it looks like an internal Verizon email has spilled the details for us: Kin One and Kin Two will go up for pre-order on May 6th, and they’ll “launch to all channels on May 13th,” according to these screenshots. We can’t confirm it yet, but we’d imaagine tween hearts are a-flutter all over the country. Just remember: Kin’s not for sexting, now.

Layar Unveils Augmented Reality Content Store

Layar is a name you should be familiar with, specially since the company is the one providing a great augmented reality service and application, available on the iPhone and Android handsets. The firm has just launched an augmented reality content store, too, allowing companies and developers to make money by offering their content through Layar Reality Browser.

Right now, Layar Reality Browser is used on more than 1.6 million mobile devices worldwide, so the market potential is huge. Payments will be done via the Layar Payment Platform, supporting multiple currencies and payment providers (PayPal among them).

The first companies that provided content for the store are Berlitz City Guide, eTicketapp for Disney World and Disneyland, Eyetours and UK sold prices. If you’re a publisher looking to make a buck, you should know that Layar takes a 40% cut.

Specialized Famicom Controller Collection Not Grounded In Reality [Famicom]

This odd mix of controllers is for the venerable Famicom system. One of them appears to be some kind of interactive bottle opener. Another, some kind of electric torture device. The rest…I have no idea. [The bbps via Technabob] More »

Adobe Flash 10.1 Support Coming to Android in June

Steve Jobs recently reignited the whole Adobe-Apple duel over Flash technology, through his official statement, with a response coming soon afterwards. However, what we should mention is that Adobe’s response includes a neat piece of info: Flash 10.1 is coming to Android in June!

A preview of the technology will be shown at Google I/O in May, on a new Android device, we hope. Although Adobe mentioned no handset for this update, we can suppose that phones like Droid, Droid Incredible and Nexus One will get support for this technology.
