HTC Droid Incredible now incredibly official for Verizon
If there was even an smidgen of lingering doubt in your mind that Verizon was picking up the HTC Incredible, you really ought to read this site more often. We saw photos of this thing decked out in its Verizon garb months ago, and then again just weeks later. Leak, after leak, after monstrous, undeniable-confirmation leak, all signs were pointing to Verizon.
Well, now Verizon has gone ahead and fessed up.
Beginning April 29th, the Verizon Droid Incredible will be available for $199.99 on a 2-year contract. If you’ve been holding out for the Verizon version of the Nexus One, go ahead and jump ship for this one now: it’s essentially the same phone, albeit with a boxier shape, a beefier camera (8 megapixel vs. 5), and HTC’s custom Sense user interface overhaul running on top of Android 2.1

Samsung, Microsoft work PlayReady DRM support into upcoming devices
The reality of PlayReady’s ability to extend DRM’d media across devices still seems to be more theory than reality (just ask Nokia) but if/when protected content wants to stay that way, Samsung hardware will be ready. The first of the company’s products with Microsoft’s DRM scheme baked in are expected to ship this year, with an expected migration from the old Windows Media DRM wrapping up across all product lines by 2012. We’re still dreaming about sliding content access from Zune to Galaxy S to Media Center PC to our remote and back, and will remain secure in our cryosleep chambers until it comes true..

FreePlay ZipCharge wants to be your supercharger
FreePlay’s ZipCharge claims to be the perfect device to grab and go when you need to charge your device. The gimmick is that you can quick charge your device and provide whatever you’re charging with enough to run all day.
The ZipCharge’s claim to fame is that you plug it into the wall and charge it up (and it doesn’t take long to do that either), and then plug it into your device when it’s needed. The company claims that connecting the ZipCharge to your mobile phone for 60 seconds will give you a talk time charge of 15 minutes, or 8 hours on standby. No word on if the device will melt the charge port on your phone. Details on exactly how the ZipCharge works are quite scarce, but it is compatible with USB 2.0, and comes with extra connections so it should work with almost any device. While the ZipCharge isn’t available in the US as of yet, you can pick it up in the UK for £49.95.
